CAMBRIDGE, MA (AUGUST 29, 2016) – Hyatt Regency Cambridge announces the promotion of Marcos Piteira as the new Director of Rooms and the appointment of Patrick Schumm as the Food & Beverage Director. Marcos Piteira, most recently the Food and Beverage Director at Hyatt Regency Cambridge, now moves into the role of Director of Rooms. Since transferring to Hyatt Regency Cambridge in March 2015, Piteira has been a strong leader and mentor in the Food and Beverage Division as well as throughout the hotel. Piteira started his career in 1998 in Hyatt Regency La Manga Resort and Spa in Spain as a Food & Beverage Manager and one year later, he transferred to the Hyatt Regency in Kazakhstan in Central Asia to manage their food and beverage outlets. After Kazakhstan, Piteira moved to New York where he worked at the Hilton Rye Town, later moving to The Dorchester in London and Puerta del Camino in Spain. In 2008, Piteira returned to Hyatt and became the Assistant Director of F&B at the Andaz Liverpool in London, UK and then transferred to the Hyatt Regency Los Pines. In his new role at the Hyatt Regency Cambridge, Piteira will lead the day-to-day rooms operations, overseeing the front office, guest services and housekeeping functions. Piteira lives with his two children and wife in the Greater Boston Area.


Patrick Schumm joins Hyatt Regency Cambridge as the new Director of Food and Beverage. He comes to Hyatt Regency Cambridge with a wealth of knowledge from the Grand Hyatt New York, having worked as the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage, where he managed three different venues as well as overseeing 58,000 sq. ft. of meeting space in the 1,308-room hotel. Before moving to New York, Schumm worked at the Grand Hyatt Washington, D.C., where he assisted running their five restaurant venues as well as their robust events department. Prior to joining Hyatt, Schumm spent three years working for the Hillstone Restaurant Group, managing two of their Maryland properties. In his new role, Schumm will function as the Business Manager for the Food and Beverage Department, ensuring that Zephyr Restaurant, In-room Dining and the Banquet Department operate successfully. Schumm graduated from DeVry University with a degree in Business Administration and a concentration in Hospitality Management. He has a strong commitment to charitable and civic organizations and has been a member of multiple hospitality societies as well as an active member of Hyatt THRIVE. Schumm and his wife Chelsea are expecting the birth of their first child this January and are moving North with their Boston terrier named Rambo.
