History

Fenway Park’s first pitch was thrown on April 20, 1912 against the New York Highlanders, better known presently as Boston’s rival, the New York Yankees. The Boston Red Sox defeated the New York Highlanders in 11 innings, 7-6 in front of 27,000 local fans.
